For my slab vessel, I chose to make a character that I often draw. I have drawn the character countless times, including in my class notebook. I know just how the character looks, the tan stripe between the eyes, the brown coat, the hazel eyes and the black stripes beneath them, the untamed white fur on it's chest. I decided on a geometric pattern, with organic lines. The pattern I closely measured, the lines are still visible on the template below, but the lines themselves are smooth and organic.

While glazing, I did my best to find the right colors for the character. At first, I hoped it could be a vase for plants or flowers, but l knew it would be impossible to get glaze into the tail area, so the flowers and plants would have to be dry. That's alright though, because dry arrangements will go well with the brown and tan-grey of the glaze!
